I got a chance to visit my old garden yesterday. It was bittersweet. Everything looked lush and healthy.. maybe even a little wild. Here are grandma's irises. I do hope the few I took along to the new house will survive. That garden took almost 15 years...I need to be patient; we've only been here 5 months!

Tough to go back and see, isn't it?

On the bright side, it looks like the people who are taking care of it now are at least not neglecting it! And maybe they'd let you take a few more irises if it came to that...

You know, that is so true! When she looked at the house, she went straight through to the backyard before looking inside. When she came back in, she said "I knew it would be good!" She bought it a couple of hours later!! :) Yep, I bet she'd give me a couple if iris, esp if I brought something from my new garden! thanks for your comment!

You are brave to go back...I'd be too afraid that my precious plants were being neglected. But sound like you knew that your garden was in good hands.
